a little peek:)

We're in:) And lovin' every minute of it!

I had some requests to show pictures of our new place. I don't want to give the *big* tour until the outside is completed..which should be by the end of the week (minus landscaping that will be done with time)..but I thought I would give a couple of peeks in the meantime.

I absolutely love it. Inside and outside...it is just me. I know that sounds silly, but this house is exactly what I would want my dream house to be. Well, plus a little more room and a more updated kitchen situated right on the ocean if I'm really getting my ultimate dream...but who's complaining now? I am so happy...and I can't wait to make memories here:)

-------------------------------------

Noah has thoroughly enjoyed having all of these boxes laying around! I know it has been said that boxes make the perfect toys because they can become anything a child can imagine, but who knew they could entertain an 8-month-old?!

He has loved playing with the flaps:)

-------------------

This was Noah's first meal in the new house.

See those little teeth shining?? Well..he's got 3 (maybe 4, I can't tell) more on the way. Two more on the bottom, on each side of the two already there, and one on top. But it's not either of his front teeth...it's one of the side teeth. I think they're called eye teeth? I'm confused...I thought the front teeth came first? The other one that may be coming in is the same one on the other side on the top. Oh well..I guess every baby is different. He's been pretty cranky today because of it. I would be too, though! He's taken lots of naps..4 today! Poor little guy...but he's been better this evening thankfully.

----------------------

Today was my dad's birthday...happy 65th!..and we had a family cookout over there. I didn't take my camera though, so no pictures. Noah tasted some yummy red velvet cake with cream cheese. He loved it, of course..as did I:)

He's getting really skilled at self-feeding with finger foods. He loves all varieties of Gerber's puff cereal and yogurt melts! We're also branching out into "real" foods. So far he has tried baked potato, several types of bread, and that cake tonight:) I'm hoping to incorporate more fresh foods now that he is more accustomed to chewing. Any ideas on good things to try? I'm thinking really well cooked veggies like carrots and very small pieces of firm fruits (he likes to squish things like bananas, so those are out for self-feeding).

Noah has also lately turned into a moving machine! He has mastered the army crawl, and pulls up to stand in his crib all the time. He is also starting to take a few steps while holding onto the crib rail.

I can't believe my little Noah can do these things already...so exciting:) One of my best friends finally had her son last week (after going some 10 days overdue!!!) and it felt so strange to hold a newborn again. I think parenthood is a completely bittersweet experience, don't you? I feel torn much of the time..missing the real "baby" days, but longing for the future and all the milestones yet to come.

I'm so thankful to have an outlet like this to record, and share, all of Noah's special firsts, as well as the ordinary day-to-day things too. And as always, thank you for visiting and following along in our journey:)

Lauren,

Congratulations on your new home. Oh that was mean I was hoping for a bigger sneak peak. :) I can't wait to see the rest I love what I have seen so far. :)

I agree 100% about parenting being bitter sweet. I miss my girls being young but I am also enjoying watching them grow into fine young women.

I hope you, Jimmy, and Noah have many great memories in your new home.

Yes, I can see what you mean about it being "so you" because that's what I felt too when I veiwed the pictures:) I had to quit watching HGTV because it was always getting me in trouble by swaying me into another decorating style:) I do follow two blogs that I have for a long time...Mable's House and My Romantic Home they have such great ideas.

Noah is so sweet and growing so fast...parenting is very bittersweet I think too:)
